2 Weeks and Counting

In preparation of moving to Rhode Island, I have started a new blog in which I hope to post weekly the adventures that await us. I feel with being so far away, it would probably be a good idea to become more diligent in my postings and communication to the outside world and so let's hope that I can do a weekly posting. Let me update you on the happenings of our family.

We started all the applications for PT school back in September and submitted all of them by the 1st of December.  This about the time when we moved in with my parents to save what money we had left from all the expenses of living and applying for the rather expenses schools.  We applied to North Carolina, Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire, Washington, Arizona, and Florida. I know, what a range of schools, but they were the best that we could come up with.

Adam immediately received invitations to interview with the schools. First with North Carolina in December and then to Maine, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island all in January.  The expense of travel added up, but it was worth it when we received word that he was accepted to all 4 of those schools and then later accepted to the ones.  Oh the choices.  After much prayer and searching, we landed our final choice on Rhode Island. WHY? You might ask. Well, when Adam interviewed there, there was something different in his voice than what he had from interviewing with the others.  He was more enthused and spoke very highly of their program.

Then he told me that the area was fantastic, the people great, and not terribly cold like Maine would be (Maine was the 2nd, Washington the 3rd but by argument so was North Carolina, just depends on who you ask :) )

Then we fasted and decided that Rhode Island was the place and it did help that they called him the day after his interview to extend the invite of acceptance to him.  That always helps :) We then agreed to go to URI, sent in our funds, and started figuring out how we would get out there.  See, URI started May 21st, the EXACT date that I was due with Ethan.  Oh how things get complicated, but thank goodness the Lord takes care of the details.  Ethan was measuring large and the doctor agreed to induce me a week early.  YAH. So we planned on Adam and my dad moving everything out the end of April, Adam would then fly back for the birth, and then return to RI to start school on the 26th of May (yes, by permission we were able to keep Adam with us an extra week since his class was online).  See the blessings.

We also had to find a place without another trip out to RI to look for a place. Again so grateful for the blessings of the gospel and God taking care of the details.  Because of the church, we were able to contact the Bishop in RI who then told a member attending URI who then got us hooked up with graduate housing which is right across the street from Adam's school!! More blessings, although the place itself is lacking in beauty- it has character and I will show pictures soon.

That is the story.  All did work out and we now find ourselves in the Forests of RI. On with the pictures.  The following are what we did before leaving Utah.  Do enjoy :)
