Old Sturbridge Village

This past week we were able to go to Old Sturbridge Village.  It is a small 1800s recreated village located in the western part of Massachusetts.  The drive to it was SOOO BEAUTIFUL!! It wasn't the highway, just roads of farms and green!! LOVE. I think that it set the tone for the day and made it magical in many ways. It was, of course, humid the day we went, and crowded because it was a free day (normally it is about 30 a ticket, too rich for my blood) but it was still enjoyable nonetheless. Gabby loved walking around and playing the old games located throughout the village.  She also loved the horses, sheep, pigs, and chickens throughout the village as well.  I am so grateful for her love of everything around her- it has made things around me seem more rich in flavor. That is what made this village so fun- very grateful we have her.  And Ethan, of course, he is just chill and has yet to show his love and enthusiasm for things around other than for milk.  Which always makes me smile :)  Enjoy the pics-

Isn't this picture of the tree with the web just so gross?  They were in the trees on our drive and they were huge and gross.  Up close, they are no better. Then you have Miss Gabby petting the sheep- so cute.

The Blacksmith Shop- Love the hat!

Eating our lunch on the green- love.  See how chill Ethan is?  Enjoying himself and then Gabby and Dad eating some yummy sandwiches.

This picture makes me laugh.  I was trying to take a picture so you could see the bank in the background, but I also wanted Gabby in it smiling.  So I told her to say "cheese" and instead she said "apple"!!! This is the face that comes from saying "apple" and why we don't say it when taking a picture.  Now it is our joke to say "apple" before any picture!! Love that girl.

This shed is up on rocks- strange.

Isn't that so cute?  They are dying wool in the background.  I love these towns.

We were able to see a puppet shadow show.  It was fun. Gabby liked it, probably because there was a dog for her to see.

Then we were able to learn an old fashion song.  It was so fun.

See Rednecks are in every part of the world!!

After the day- Ethan and Gabby were playing, well this is the most playful he gets right now.
