Day 3: Disaster

Ok.  Of course something had to go wrong. Ugh.  See.  The house boat broke.  So no air conditioning. Remember that it is 110 degrees, plus.  Then the motor boat broke.  It was MISERABLE.  We swam a lot.  Then we needed to find reception for our phones because we had to call for my brother in law's family to come early so that they could take us inland the next day.

Adam, Trapper, Kirt, Carolyn and myself hiked in the desert looking for reception.  Megan's strange boyfriend told us that he got reception 1 mile out... we just agreed that he was drunk most of the time and didn't really pay too much attention.  Thank goodness because it was more like 3 miles from the house boat ON TOP OF A BIG HILL.  It was so HOT.  Carolyn and I went down to the water and stayed there while the boys went out to find reception.  It was nice to just talk and laugh.  We waited for a good hour and still no sign of the boys, so we decided to hike back.  Well, we tried to swim back. Ha.  What a joke.  Thank goodness the boys should up 15 min later.  I think that we would have drowned.  No lie.  We tried to do something fun, though, so that counts.

We then waited for some miracle.  We swam to a cove that was close by.  That was fun.  Then we slept on top of the boat because it was so hot inside.  Well, Adam and Ethan slept inside for the sake of not waking Ethan up.  It would out great.

The next day was miserable as well.  Because everything was not working, we had to wait for Kirt's family to come.  We were all on a time schedule, especially Adam and myself.  We had a RSL soccer game later that evening with my family.

Packing up day came, we all loaded up.  Then we got into the car of Adam's cousin.  Well, let's just say we didn't make the game.  Boo Hoo.  We stopped for frequent potty breaks for the sweet little ones and about 30 minutes into the trip Ethan started throwing up.  After the 3rd throw up we threw in the towel and called my parents to tell them that there was no way we were going to make it.

Trevor and Kenalee were so gracious to us in letting us bum a ride from them.  They were sweet and understanding about Ethan and Gabby's car sickness, especially as their poor car suffered Ethan's wrath multiple times.

In the end both Adam and I wanted to cry all the kids were sick and we missed a good soccer game.  Probably more so Adam.  And as if that wasn't enough Adam ended up going to the ER later that night because his eye felt like it was going to pop!!  What a day.  Thankfully the little ones slept through the night though.

So if you look at the whole vacation, being with family was fantastic.  But the miserable part was miserable.

Enjoy the pics

Side note:  Because it was so hot and hot, I actually swam A LOT.  I even washed my hair in that dirty water. Last time I didn't because of all the fish and whatever else that was in the water.  Gross.  It was really enjoyable this time.  Thank goodness.
